Ten.

  1. The snow berms outside are so high, yesterday when I was out driving around, the top of the snow was up to my window. We've lived in Spokane for 9 1/2 years and I've never seen snow like this. In fact, I've never seen snow like this in my life. There are supposed to be 3 to 5 more inches today and a whole bunch more on Thursday... wow. It's just amazingly beautiful and cool.
  2. My kids are home from school again today. Two snow days in a row is unheard of for Spokane Public Schools. Kyler is in seventh grade and this is the first time he's ever had a snow day, let alone two.
  3. Tejan is feeling great this morning. Not one complaint about his mouth being sore. I hate having dental work done and would be milking 8 fillings and an extraction for days. Thank goodness, he's not.
  4. Gracie is not a fan of snow up to her belly. She's taken to pooping on the driveway because it's the only place she can go where she's not up to her nose in snow. At least that way I can get it picked up... I guess I won't complain.
  5. Asia left a bit ago to try to drive to Yakima for a couple days for work. I made him promise if the roads are bad to turn around and come back. I used to be a lot more nervous about things like this, but I trust his judgement. Still, I'll be praying a lot this morning as he travels.
  6. Lent starts February 6th. I usually try to give something up for Lent... it really does help to focus my heart on Christ's sacrifice on the cross. I think I know what I'm going to do this year, but I'm still thinking on it...
  7. I got fun mail yesterday - my tassel from Nester and a new Creative Memories corner rounder I bought off ebay to replace one that got swiped during a class awhile back. Both made me so happy after a long day at the hospital. I love happy mail.
  8. Savannah has taken to taping things up on her walls in her room... they are starting to be covered, much like mine were at this age. I remember barely having an inch of space that wasn't covered with magazine pictures and words, schmaltzy animal prints and girly schtuff. I think it's pretty cute. But she sure is using lots of tape... (have I ever told you how territorial I am about tape? No, I don't think so. Trust me - if you borrow my tape, you'd better return it to it's little drawer or else...)
  9. Lots of cute new product sneak peeks out there the last couple of days... have you seen the new Scenic Route? And Cosmo Cricket? Oh dear. LOOOOOVE IT!
  10. We saw this little guy and his buddy yesterday on our way to the hospital. Fortunately, Asia was driving and I just happened to be sitting in the car with my camera in my lap. Not sure why they were out in the middle of the day, but we got to watch them saunter across the road... pretty cute little guys. Too bad they're so mean. Tejan got a kick out of it - and wanted to catch them and keep them as pets.

Happy Tuesday, bloggies!

  3. oh that snow brings back memories. That's what it was like for 4-5 years when I was in elementary school. That was the BEST!
(not so great when you have to drive and shovel).
I'll take a couple inches and a snow day if you have one or two to spare. :)
I'm glad the oral surgery went well.

  4. SNOW!! We are spending a couple days in Government Camp, Skiing with the boys. In the last 72 hrs they have had 42" of snow. We have had to unbury our car from over a foot of snow each morning. Chains don't help you when the snow is so deep your car bottoms out in the snow.

Tejan wanted to keep them as pets or eat them??

  5. Do tell what your plans are with that tassel thing. I dare you to wear it out- like for dinner!

It came out of the faucet that way.

It's been months since I've had a "Getting to Know You Wednesday." Life's been a little crazy. So today, when life is a little bit calm and I've got the least chaotic week I've had for ages, I thought I'd jump back in. So today, if you leave me a comment telling me your most favorite-ist movie line ever, I'll enter you in a drawing for your very own copy of Josh Groban's new Christmas CD - Noel . It's a good one, folks. Classic holiday music from such a wonderful vocalist... you'll like it, I promise. I just want one movie line. Not your three favorite... not a paragraph. Just one line. The one you find yourself repeating. The one that makes you laugh every time. Your very favorite movie line of all time. And if you're the first person to name the movie my title is from, you'll get an extra entry in the drawing. Now, let's hear it.

30,000? For real?

So, if you scroll down to the bottom of this here blog, you'll see that I'm probably just a day or two from reaching 30,000 hits. That's just freaky. And in just under 2 years. (I didn't add the counter until after I'd been blogging for several months...) So in honor of almost reaching that milestone, this weeks 'getting to know you Wednesday' question is this: What would you do if you won $30,000? I like this question, because it's not an overwhelming number, and therefore not brain-freeze inducing. It's big enough to be able to accomplish some nice little projects around the house, but not so large that you have to worry about your third cousins from the Ozarks showing up on your doorstep looking for cash so they can put veneers on their teeth. Answer my question this week and you'll be entered in a drawing for 30 special little trinkets in a lovely little goody box. (And when I say trinkets, I mean trinkets. We're talking 30 little lovelie

Are you ready for this?

How did it get to be Wednesday? Seriously. There aren't enough hours in the day - even when you're up at 2:00 am. And no - I didn't get up at 2:00 this morning. I slept all the way until 5:00! Anywho - I decided I needed something new to blog. Something to shake you all out of your 'thoughts from the deep recesses' stupor. Something to get your blood pumping and your fingers tingling. Something to inspire long and meaningful comments. From you. My beloved readers. It's a new weekly Thoughts From the Deep Recesses feature. It's "Getting to Know you Wednesday" Now this could either be lots of fun, or it could just totally flop, and I could go to bed crying because my blog readers are a bunch of takers who only come here to read and never interact. Like a piece of fresh fruit, you squeeze the juice out of my hard-written and well thought out posts and then you toss them aside, wandering on to the next blog with a simple click of your mouse.
