Tejan Update

Good news this week on the Tejan front.

He'll be having his surgery at Shriner's on September 12th.

Things are in motion to get his tickets and transportation arranged.

He'll arrive here early enough to have a pre-op appointment. Not sure of the date on that, but I'm assuming it could be about a week before his surgery.

It's so good to finally have a date. It makes it all feel real.

We're very excited around here to see this answer to many months of prayers.

And SO eager to meet our African son/brother.

Can you even believe it's actually going to happen finally?

Of course, now I'm nesting.

Thinking of all the things I'd like to get done before his arrival.

Silly.

The timing really couldn't have been more perfect. I'd already asked for the weekend after the 12th off because I was thinking about going to the coast for a crop with my mom. So I'm totally free to be at the hospital... I think that's so cool.

It's been over a year and a half that I've felt the need to pray for Africa.

And I've been praying specifically for Tejan since last November.

Now, in less than two months, he will be living in my home.

I'll be feeding him.

And playing with him.

Washing his clothes.

Managing his appointments.

Getting to know a little boy from Africa.

God gave me a dream.

And now He's letting me live it.

Amazing.

30,000? For real?

So, if you scroll down to the bottom of this here blog, you'll see that I'm probably just a day or two from reaching 30,000 hits. That's just freaky. And in just under 2 years. (I didn't add the counter until after I'd been blogging for several months...) So in honor of almost reaching that milestone, this weeks 'getting to know you Wednesday' question is this: What would you do if you won $30,000? I like this question, because it's not an overwhelming number, and therefore not brain-freeze inducing. Are you ready for this?

How did it get to be Wednesday? Seriously. There aren't enough hours in the day - even when you're up at 2:00 am. And no - I didn't get up at 2:00 this morning. I slept all the way until 5:00!
