Take out, anyone?

Here are the before and after pictures of my kitchen, as promised: Now, just as a disclaimer, I didn't spend any time cleaning or trying to make the before pictures look cute - these were my "Oh my gosh, when we come back the whole kitchen will be torn up - I'd better take pictures before we leave" shots...

And here is what we came home to:
All wall cabinets torn out. Popcorn ceiling scraped off. Floor torn up. Half of base cabinets gone. Soffitt halfway removed. Molding taken off. Backsplash removed. Dust everywhere. Floor covered with sticky glue residue. Generally, a huge mess... and this is how I get to live for the next several weeks...

  2. Wow, and you are having 16 people in the house for Christmas in a month !
    Hope your contractor is energetic

Don't sweat it. Everyone is welcome here if it doesn't fall together as planned.

Doesn't look as bad as I thought it might but I realize I'm not the one living in the mess. Just having our shower redone has made a ton of muck and mess. Unbelievable.

What's with Asia's foot? It looks way pigeontoed.

  4. Kelly - you're crazy. FUN?

Mom - never fear - we're hosting. If we have to order take out, we'll order take out. It'll be fun! (At least Kelly thinks so...)

Lorraine - I don't know what's up with his foot. That's freaky looking. The rest of the cabinets come out tomorrow night. The weird thing is, the kitchen feel smaller... I don't understand that.

I think it's cool you are doing the remodel. We, on the other hand, can only dream. Someday! Hope all goes well this week and that you have a little fun in the midst of the grime in your teeth.

  6. YIKES! But how exciting. Cathy, you have a really big kitchen! I can't wait to see how it changes after the remodel. In the meantime, good grief... what a mess. I'm sending you vibes of blindness.

  7. Kel - Yes, our kitchen is huge. We love it - except when remodeling, all that great square footage = lots of $$$$.

It looks even worse now - I'll be posting pictures later of the additional carnage...

    So glad you're back, Kelly!
