I've been tagged.

So, Stacy Julian tagged me.

Here ya' go:

Four jobs you’ve had in your life:

1. Burro Wrangler at Green Oak Ranch. This was a horsemanship camp for inner-city kids - I ran the burro program and taught hundreds of little kids how to ride. I adore burros and someday hope to have property so I can own one of my own.
2. Counter girl and cook at Alice's Drive In - my highschool job. The best burgers in Astoria, hands down.
3. Horsemanship Program Coordinator - Jasper Mountain Center. Here, I taught severely abused kids the joys of horses - from riding to mucking stalls.
4. Fine Jewelry Specialist at Mervyn's. I know, Fine Jewelry and Mervyns is a bit of an oxymoron.

Four movies you would watch over and over:

1. What's Up Doc with Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neill
2. Gone With The Wind
3. The Sound of Music
4. Return to Me

Four places you have lived:

1. Astoria, Oregon
2. Eugene, Oregon
3. San Jose, California
4. Spokane, Washington

Four TV shows you love to watch:

1. American Idol, when it's on.
2. Grey's Anatomy
3. Talk Soup
4. What Not to Wear

Four places you have been on vacation:

1. Shongaloo, Louisianna - population 28.
2. Colorado Springs, Colorado
3. Paris, France
4. Manzanita, Oregon - every summer

Four websites you visit daily:

1. The Pub at Two Peas in a Bucket
2. KellyWell
3. The Edge of Reason
4. My blog

Four of your favorite foods:

1. A great green salad with nuts and craisins and feta cheese
2. Crepes au chocolate
3. Raspberry Oat Bars from Rocket bakery
4. Grilled Salmon

Four places you would rather be right now:

1. In my studio working on my art journal.
2. Out for coffee with my oldest friend, Corey.
3. On a girls weekend with my Mom.
4. On a date with Asia.
(But really I'm totally content to be sitting here with my laptop, listening to S. read to E., and with the dog at my feet... home is always my favorite place to be.)

Four bloggers you are tagging:

I'll just say my brothers, Steve and Ken. Steve, because his site has been down for a couple of days and he doesn't update it often enough, and Ken, because I've never seen him be tagged. He's kind of an insulated blogger, I think.

So there you have it. I'm officially not it anymore.

Comments

  1. Uh, that last one said 4 (four) bloggers not two. I'm afraid you're still it.

  2. Yea, I know. All the other people who come to my blog regularly have probably already been tagged with this one, or they don't respond well to tagging.

So I'm done with two. It's my blog and I say so.

Happy Birthday Cathy! , originally uploaded by Pink Paper Peppermints . All of these sweet bloggy friends threw me a cyber-birthday party! How fun is that? Thank you, dear friends. I am touched. It's really just what I needed today. Sweet Tanya even made me a cake. If you want to follow the party around cyber-space, you can go to Melissa's blog to see everyone who is participating.

Getting to know you Wednesday

So it's been awhile. But I thought hearing from ya'll might cheer up my little snow encrusted Spokane self. So today, if I get at least 12 comments, I'll randomly pick one and send that lucky commenter any CD from Your Music . Whatever you want. So today, in light of mid-winter doldrums, I want you to answer the following three questions. To escape mid-winter doldrums, I like to: My favorite winter memory is: I know Spring is coming when: Okay, friends. Now it's your turn. Go to it.

The floodgates have opened.

So, I was doing pretty well managing my emotions. I kept telling people that I had processed a lot of my grieving over Tejan's departure back in January - when we were so close to saying goodbye... and so that must be why I wasn't feeling overly emotional about it this time around. I hadn't shed any tears. Hadn't choked up in that strange, overwhelming way where I feel like my whole head is filling up with fluid and my throat is so constricted I'm just sure I'm going to die. Nope. I was doing just fine. And then I went out to dinner with some girlfriends. And while I was a little socially inept because I'm a kind of overwhelmed and not really wanting to talk too much lately (perhaps in subconscious fear that I might touch on a nerve that would cause my aforementioned steely resolve to crumble) I thought I got through the evening fairly well. I didn't tear up - or need tissue for any fluids defiantly leaking from my facial orifices... until I made the a...
