It's Flashback Friday!

If you've seen my oldest son, Kyler lately, you know that as he progresses through puberty and becomes a young man, his hair just gets bigger and bigger.

The boy has THICK, curly, amazing hair. And it's become quite the topic of conversation in our circle.

Sometimes I wonder where he gets all that hair. I have thick hair, but it's stick straight. And it lies nicely next to my head.

Kyler's hair is huge. If he would let me style it, I'd bet I could get it to be even bigger. But of course I'm not allowed to touch it.

And then there's Ethan. My baby. Ouch. This boy's got some hair too, let me tell you. Wiry, thick, brillo pad hair.

If it gets longer than about an inch, it sticks out in all directions, and no product I've ever found will make it lie flat.

My boys have weird hair. That's all there is to it.

Sometimes I wonder where it came from.

But then, I'll stumble across this picture.

Mystery solved.

Wow, what a way to wake up. He needs his own sitcom looking THAT happy and round headed.

  2. You know, after the shock of the hair, all I saw was the huge, authentic smile. He has that familiar twinkle in his eyes. Gosh, I like that guy you married.
It makes me miss you guys.

  3. He kind of looks like he could have been a scene double for that Todd Bridges guy back in the day (just looks, not personality or any character qualities, k?)

Wowza! Did he also leave the wide tooth comb stuck in the back? Tell Asia that Nora and I thoroughly enjoyed this photo.

Getting to know you Wednesday

So it's been awhile. But I thought hearing from ya'll might cheer up my little snow encrusted Spokane self. So today, if I get at least 12 comments, I'll randomly pick one and send that lucky commenter any CD from Your Music . Whatever you want. So today, in light of mid-winter doldrums, I want you to answer the following three questions. To escape mid-winter doldrums, I like to: My favorite winter memory is: I know Spring is coming when: Okay, friends. Now it's your turn. Go to it.

The floodgates have opened.

So, I was doing pretty well managing my emotions. I kept telling people that I had processed a lot of my grieving over Tejan's departure back in January - when we were so close to saying goodbye... and so that must be why I wasn't feeling overly emotional about it this time around. I hadn't shed any tears. Hadn't choked up in that strange, overwhelming way where I feel like my whole head is filling up with fluid and my throat is so constricted I'm just sure I'm going to die. Nope. I was doing just fine. And then I went out to dinner with some girlfriends. And while I was a little socially inept because I'm a kind of overwhelmed and not really wanting to talk too much lately (perhaps in subconscious fear that I might touch on a nerve that would cause my aforementioned steely resolve to crumble) I thought I got through the evening fairly well. I didn't tear up - or need tissue for any fluids defiantly leaking from my facial orifices... until I made the a...
