Ten on Tuesday

  1. No Creativity Monday this week... it was laundry and cleaning Monday instead and I just didn't have the energy at the end of the day to be creative. Sorry! I'll pick it up next week!
  2. Savannah had her 8th grade visit to the high school last week... yikes! I can't possibly be old enough to have two high schoolers, can I? Ready or not, here we are... she's all registered for her freshman classes. Crazy.
  3. She's counting down the days... only one more week and then her braces come off after two and a half years. She's already had almost all of them removed - only the front four teeth still have anything one them... next Tuesday they'll remove the rest and give her her retainer. She's beside herself.
  4. I led my first Saturday meetings last weekend. I LOVE doing two back-to-back meetings... if I have to drive there, I'd just as soon get two meetings done. Had over 130 people attend the two meetings and sold over $1500 in product. Yay!
  5. Kyler started track practice officially yesterday.  There's still about 4 inches of snow on the ground. Silly. He's been running all winter, so it's not really anything he's not used to. But brrr.... right?
  6. Fundraising for our trip continues... got a report yesterday of $$$ that's come in and continue to be amazed by people's generosity. We are officially at just over $7000 between money raised and money saved - a little less than halfway to what we need. We're scheduling another bake sale and I've got a couple of other fundraising ideas up my sleeve... We need to get to about $12,000 sooner rather than later so we can purchase our plane tickets...
  7. Need a cute calendar? I think THIS is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. I've got mine printed and plan to assemble it as soon as I have a free minute...
  8. March 30th will be my six year anniversary of blogging. What a crazy ride it's been. One of my favorite self-indulgent time wasters is to go back and pick a random month and just read... what was going on in March of 2009? Go read it! November 2006? Go read it! So cool. So glad I've kept it up. It's a wonderful record of our lives.
  9. I am officially tired of my winter wardrobe... particularly for work. Should I wear the black slacks or the brown slacks? Black tights or brown tights? Black boots or brown boots? Ugh. Really ready for some spring weather so I can bust out some color.
  10. I took on a new job responsibility - I am now a Location Coordinator for our North Nevada location... which means I'm responsible for all the ordering and inventory. It's a challenging new position and I'm thrilled with the opportunity to learn it. Gosh, I love my job.
Happy Tuesday, friends! Have a lovely day. Smooch you all.

  4. Glad you love your job. That is half the battle of wanting to go to work. Why do you suppose I have been at it for almost 15 years now. I love it too !
It has really changed since I started though....We were just a local owned Oregon franchise when I began. Very different from now but it was even fun then and a lot less complicated...(My members are looking forward to meeting you next week !!!!!)

It came out of the faucet that way.

It's been months since I've had a "Getting to Know You Wednesday." Life's been a little crazy. So today, when life is a little bit calm and I've got the least chaotic week I've had for ages, I thought I'd jump back in. So today, if you leave me a comment telling me your most favorite-ist movie line ever, I'll enter you in a drawing for your very own copy of Josh Groban's new Christmas CD - Noel . It's a good one, folks. Classic holiday music from such a wonderful vocalist... you'll like it, I promise. I just want one movie line. Not your three favorite... not a paragraph. Just one line. The one you find yourself repeating. The one that makes you laugh every time. Your very favorite movie line of all time. And if you're the first person to name the movie my title is from, you'll get an extra entry in the drawing. Now, let's hear it.

Are you ready for this?

How did it get to be Wednesday? Seriously. There aren't enough hours in the day - even when you're up at 2:00 am. And no - I didn't get up at 2:00 this morning. I slept all the way until 5:00! Anywho - I decided I needed something new to blog. Something to shake you all out of your 'thoughts from the deep recesses' stupor. Something to get your blood pumping and your fingers tingling. Something to inspire long and meaningful comments. From you. My beloved readers. It's a new weekly Thoughts From the Deep Recesses feature. It's "Getting to Know you Wednesday" Now this could either be lots of fun, or it could just totally flop, and I could go to bed crying because my blog readers are a bunch of takers who only come here to read and never interact. Like a piece of fresh fruit, you squeeze the juice out of my hard-written and well thought out posts and then you toss them aside, wandering on to the next blog with a simple click of your mouse. Good morning, peeps. It's Friday. There's frost outside this morning. *FROST!* This week has been ridiculously chilly. I'm having mixed feelings about blogging lately. Mostly because I feel like all I've been doing is whine about being tired. Or overwhelmed. And because comments are lacking. And because I can't seem to think about anything to write about except Tejan. And because some of the thoughts I'm having are too private for the blog - or too repetitive. Or too unformed to turn into actual words you all could understand. So I'm struggling a bit. And yet, I'm committed to documenting the process I'm in. So I'll keep writing when the words come. And when they don't, like this morning, when I looked at that intimidating blinking cursor and my mind went blank and I started to break out in a cold sweat and began by talking about the weather... well, then, I'll just gracefully (or not so gracefully) back out of the room... tail between m
