Okay - so we're certifiably crazy

Before I left for church with the kids yesterday, Asia suggested I stop on the way home at the pet store to buy a sweater for Gracie. See, it's pretty darn cold here in the evenings, and if Gracie is going to go trick-or-treating with us, she needs something to keep her warm. Boxers are very short-haired. In fact, her little belly is almost bald, there's so little hair there. If she's outside too long in the cold she gets all shivery... so a sweater seemed like a good idea. We don't want our little girl getting too cold, after all.

Now in the past, I would have laughed out loud at anyone who was buying "clothes" for their dog. Obviously, anyone who would dress their dog has serious issues. Now I say, yes, of course, we have issues. We have issues with our baby who gets chilled in no time at all in the cold weather.

So here you go. I took pictures, just so you could see how pretty she looks. And she knows it too. The kids took her for a walk yesterday in her new duds, and she was absolutely prancing. She knew she looked pretty.

Pretty scary, eh?

(But she's SO cute...)

  3. Hey, ladies! Thanks for stopping by... isn't she just adorable??? Who knew they made pink and brown chenille for dogs???

You officially love your dog more than I love my dog. The sweater is way stinkin' cute. I love these pictures. Gracie is beautiful.

  6. Well, I'm still going to make fun of you, but she is cute!! Thanks for the fun party last night. Danny said, "Well, that didn't seem to evil." :-) He was kidding, of course.

  7. Lara - I'm so glad someone else admitted to liking the sweater enough to want one for herself. It really is the cutest thing ever - but I'm a sucker for anything pink and brown.

Kelly - I was most worried about the mocking laughter coming from you - but I knew you would still be my friend, so I went ahead and posted the pictures...

  8. Kelly E. - oh come on now - I don't believe you for a minute... I know you love your noisy Buddy just as much - it just hasn't manifested itself in a pink and brown chenille sweater... and thank goodness, because he would look awfully silly wearing it, dontcha think?

Min - It was great to hang with you last night. And Danny seemed amazingly tolerant of Gracie's presence... and the inherent evil of trick-or-treating... Amazing how chocolate covers a multitude of sins, eh?

I love it when people talk back...

It came out of the faucet that way.

It's been months since I've had a "Getting to Know You Wednesday." Life's been a little crazy. So today, when life is a little bit calm and I've got the least chaotic week I've had for ages, I thought I'd jump back in. So today, if you leave me a comment telling me your most favorite-ist movie line ever, I'll enter you in a drawing for your very own copy of Josh Groban's new Christmas CD - Noel . It's a good one, folks. Classic holiday music from such a wonderful vocalist... you'll like it, I promise. I just want one movie line. Not your three favorite... not a paragraph. Just one line. The one you find yourself repeating. The one that makes you laugh every time. Your very favorite movie line of all time. And if you're the first person to name the movie my title is from, you'll get an extra entry in the drawing. Now, let's hear it.

30,000? For real?

So, if you scroll down to the bottom of this here blog, you'll see that I'm probably just a day or two from reaching 30,000 hits. That's just freaky. And in just under 2 years. (I didn't add the counter until after I'd been blogging for several months...) So in honor of almost reaching that milestone, this weeks 'getting to know you Wednesday' question is this: What would you do if you won $30,000? I like this question, because it's not an overwhelming number, and therefore not brain-freeze inducing. It's big enough to be able to accomplish some nice little projects around the house, but not so large that you have to worry about your third cousins from the Ozarks showing up on your doorstep looking for cash so they can put veneers on their teeth. Answer my question this week and you'll be entered in a drawing for 30 special little trinkets in a lovely little goody box. (And when I say trinkets, I mean trinkets. We're talking 30 little lovelie

Phlumpyschlumpy.

Good morning, peeps. It's Friday. There's frost outside this morning. *FROST!* This week has been ridiculously chilly. I'm having mixed feelings about blogging lately. Mostly because I feel like all I've been doing is whine about being tired. Or overwhelmed. And because comments are lacking. And because I can't seem to think about anything to write about except Tejan. And because some of the thoughts I'm having are too private for the blog - or too repetitive. Or too unformed to turn into actual words you all could understand. So I'm struggling a bit. And yet, I'm committed to documenting the process I'm in. So I'll keep writing when the words come. And when they don't, like this morning, when I looked at that intimidating blinking cursor and my mind went blank and I started to break out in a cold sweat and began by talking about the weather... well, then, I'll just gracefully (or not so gracefully) back out of the room... tail between m
