To do, to do, to do!

  1. Decorate tree - Asia set it up for me last night
  2. Help kids decorate their tree when they get home from school
  3. Go to S's class to help with the holiday party and gingerbread house decorating fun
  4. Touch up paint in kitchen
  5. Vaccuum
  6. Dust
  7. Clean downstairs
  8. Wrap presents for extended family gathering this weekend
  9. Make cut-out sugar cookies to decorate with family this weekend
  10. Make peanut butter bars for big ugly brother who is visiting this weekend
  11. Create a mini album for my design team gig - this is one I really wish I could get out of
  12. Pick up Gracie at the vet when they call. She vomited numerous times this morning - pieces of sponge. Purple sponge. The vet did x-rays and is keeping her for observation today. Can you say $$$?
  13. Do Costco shopping so I can feed my family
  14. Plan a menu for this weekend
  15. Keep a happy heart and a serene spirit through it all

The kitchen is really and truly almost done. The refrigerator has gone missing - they are looking for it and said they hope they can deliver it Friday morning. Ugh! I'm waiting until it's in place and then I'll post the pictures.

We got everything moved into the cupboards yesterday. My three girlfriends were invaulable to me as we sorted and organized and found some really old stuff in the back of my downstairs pantry! You know your friends are true when they see that you have 6 boxes of Captain Crunch stored away and not one of them says anything about tooth decay or healthy alternatives for breakfast. I honestly don't know where they all came from. (The cereal, not the friends.)

The good news is: I brought everything up from my basement storage area and into the kitchen, and there's still room for more! I have five empty drawers and lots of upper cabinet space that's still empty. I LOVE that.

Okay - I'm off to decorate.

Happy happy day.

WooHoo... pictures of the tree please (grin). I leave on Wednesday and I won't have internet access that first week. I want to see your tree before I head out to your part of the country (so close, but yet so far, doggone it).

Giggling over the Captain Crunch. For us, it would be Cinnamon Toast Crunch... must be something about the word crunch that sells cereal!

Happy Birthday Cathy! , originally uploaded by Pink Paper Peppermints . All of these sweet bloggy friends threw me a cyber-birthday party! How fun is that? Thank you, dear friends. I am touched. It's really just what I needed today. Sweet Tanya even made me a cake. If you want to follow the party around cyber-space, you can go to Melissa's blog to see everyone who is participating.

Getting to know you Wednesday

So it's been awhile. But I thought hearing from ya'll might cheer up my little snow encrusted Spokane self. So today, if I get at least 12 comments, I'll randomly pick one and send that lucky commenter any CD from Your Music . Whatever you want. So today, in light of mid-winter doldrums, I want you to answer the following three questions. To escape mid-winter doldrums, I like to: My favorite winter memory is: I know Spring is coming when: Okay, friends. Now it's your turn. Go to it.

The floodgates have opened.

So, I was doing pretty well managing my emotions. I kept telling people that I had processed a lot of my grieving over Tejan's departure back in January - when we were so close to saying goodbye... and so that must be why I wasn't feeling overly emotional about it this time around. I hadn't shed any tears. Hadn't choked up in that strange, overwhelming way where I feel like my whole head is filling up with fluid and my throat is so constricted I'm just sure I'm going to die. Nope. I was doing just fine. And then I went out to dinner with some girlfriends. And while I was a little socially inept because I'm a kind of overwhelmed and not really wanting to talk too much lately (perhaps in subconscious fear that I might touch on a nerve that would cause my aforementioned steely resolve to crumble) I thought I got through the evening fairly well. I didn't tear up - or need tissue for any fluids defiantly leaking from my facial orifices... until I made the a...
