ABC Meme

Act your age? I think so, for the most part...

Born on what day of the week? Saturday.

Chore you hate? Floors - be it vacuuming or mopping or sweeping - it doesn't matter. I hate it.

Dad's name? Robert Lee, but everyone just calls him Bob. E.'s middle name is Robert - so we call him E. Bob.

Essential makeup item? It would have to be powder. I just don't feel ready to face the day until I've put on some powder... I tend to have a bit too much shine without it.

Favorite actor? Hmmm. I'd have to say John Cusack, although I don't like a lot of movies he's been in...

Gold or silver? I'll wear either. I like both.

Hometown? Astoria, Oregon.

Instruments you play? Piano. I also know how to play the clarinet, oboe, and the flute, but it's been years.

Job title? Household Engineer. Teacher. My business cards say "Scrapbookery Manager."

Kids? Yep. Three.

Living arrangements? A 1949 rancher in a lovely established neighborhood. 5 bedrooms. 3 baths. One 'dark and scary place.'

Mom's name? Delores Ann.

Need? A pedicure.

Overnight hospital stays? When I had my babies and in 1998 after breast reduction surgery. It was bliss. A tv remote, food brought to me on a tray and no chores? Lovely.

Phobias? Not really. Phobia is a too strong of a word, but I really don't like snakes.

Quote you like? "Sleep is a poor substitute for coffee."

Religious affiliation? I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. AMEN.

Siblings? 2 older brothers. They used to pin me to the ground and then let drool hang out of their mouths until it almost touched me - and then they would suck it back up into their mouths. Yes, I was a tortured child.

Time you wake up? Usually between 6:30 and 7:00.

Unique talent? Too complex to explain here, but it involves two albino rodeo clowns with trick shoulders and a gallon of olive oil.

Volume? I have a loud voice - it tends to carry, which was perfect when I was a cheerleader and not so perfect when I had napping babies. My firstborn inherited my loud voice, which drives me crazy.

Worst habit? Procrastination

X-rays you've had? Arm. Back. Neck. Mammogram.

Yummy food you make? I love to cook. I make a killer grilled flank steak. Salads. Great pasta. I'm a baker at heart - great chocolate chip cookies, delicious breads... I could go on and on. I love to eat my cooking and baking. Too much probably...

Zodiac Sign? Aquarius. Whatever that means.

Yes, my older brother used to torture me in the very same manner. I would make things worse by laying there with my mouth wide open, screaming for mom!

Somebody got a new toy...

Phlumpyschlumpy.

Good morning, peeps. It's Friday. There's frost outside this morning. *FROST!* This week has been ridiculously chilly. I'm having mixed feelings about blogging lately. Mostly because I feel like all I've been doing is whine about being tired. Or overwhelmed. And because comments are lacking. And because I can't seem to think about anything to write about except Tejan. And because some of the thoughts I'm having are too private for the blog - or too repetitive. Or too unformed to turn into actual words you all could understand. So I'm struggling a bit. And yet, I'm committed to documenting the process I'm in. So I'll keep writing when the words come. And when they don't, like this morning, when I looked at that intimidating blinking cursor and my mind went blank and I started to break out in a cold sweat and began by talking about the weather... well, then, I'll just gracefully (or not so gracefully) back out of the room... tail between m...

Missoula Children's Theater

Last week Savannah and Ethan were both cast in their school's Missoula Children's Theater production of Red Riding Hood. Savannah was cast as Mother Hood and the Grandmother, and Ethan was Robin Hood - the Hood family's cousin from England. After five days of intense rehearsing, (four and a half hours every day after school) they were ready for two shows on Saturday afternoon. It was so fun for them. And fun for me, as I was one of two parent volunteers with the privilege of being at every rehearsal. I come from my own childhood experience of many opportunities with theater and musicals, so watching them experience the thrill of performing was awesome. It was an amazing week. I'm so glad they had the chance to do it. I loved that instead of having to commit to weeks and weeks of rehearsals, they just had to do this one really intense week. A full scale musical production without a month of rehearsing and I didn't have to sew any costumes! That's my kind of pla...
