Getting to know you Wednesday

Okay, presumably, you know the drill.

Answer these questions, because I like to get to know my blog readers.

And because you might win a $10 Amazon gift certificate.

(I know, you can't buy much of anything for $10 on Amazon, but hey, I'm not made of money... and it's a gesture, people. A bribe, if you will. And I did just get the 'Ray' soundtrack for $10.97...)

So answer me this...

  1. Jif or Skippy?
  2. Creamy or chunky?
  3. Mayo or Miracle Whip?
  4. Walk or bike?
  5. Mountains or beach?
  6. Hardwood or carpet?
  7. Ice cream or sorbet?
  8. Cat or dog?
  9. Europe or Hawaii?
  10. Blow dry or air dry?

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Hey Cathy, I tried this over at Readerman.net and only got five responses, so I think everybody wins.

Skippy, cause what kind of name is Jif

Crunchy, cause peanuts are supposed to be crunchy

Miracle Whip, cause it just tastes better, and I had a bad date with mayo once.

    Bike, I would rather pedal.

Mountains at the beach, the Oregon Coast.

Hardwood, it just looks better and never goes out of style.

Ice Cream. Chocolate chip mint and even better use it to make grasshopper pie.

Dog. Allergic to cats, and cats are too independent.

Hawaii, to relax. Europe to visit and explore.

Blow dry only when I want the extra volume.

    1. Jif or Skippy?
Neither. I'm a natural peanut butter fan--every day for breakfast!

    2. Creamy or chunky? Chunky--no jam, either.

    3. Mayo or Miracle Whip? Mayo. Hate, hate, hate Miracle Whip.

    4. Walk or bike? Both! I live along the ocean where there is a wonderful trail. I walk every day but I love to bike it, too.

    5. Mountains or beach? I live by the beach, so I guess beach...but for a change of pace, I love the mountains....so both???

    6. Hardwood or carpet? Hardwood.

    7. Ice cream or sorbet?
Ice cream. If I eat it, I love chocolate chocolate chip

    8. Cat or dog? Dog. My dog is a Belgian tervuren named Aztec. Very sweet.

    9. Europe or Hawaii? If money is not object, Europe. I'd love to go to Italy and study cooking.

    10. Blow dry or air dry? Air dry except for special events.

Jif or Skippy?- Adams (the big jar from Costco)

    Creamy or chunky?- Creamy.

Mayo or Miracle Whip?- Mayo. Miracle Whip makes me gag.

Walk or bike?- This one makes me feel guilty because I should be exercising more. If I have to choose, I pick bike.

Mountains or beach?- Beach. I could stare at the waves crashing on the seashore all day long.

Hardwood or carpet?- Hardwood. We got rid of most of our carpet a few years ago and love it.

Ice cream or sorbet?- Sorbet. Much more refreshing, unless its Dairy Maid soft serve in Warrenton.

Cat or dog?- I have neither, but if I had to choose, I'd pick Cat. They are smarter and smell better.

Europe or Hawaii?- Europe. Hawaii bored me. As for Europe, there is so much history I could never be bored.

Blow dry or air dry?- Air dry. If I need to blow dry that just means I need a hair cut.

  4. Skippy!

Chunky peanut butter, but creamy fudge :)

Mayo - Miracle Whip does not flavor artichoke dip properly, know what I mean?

Well, I think I would like to go for a bike ride soon.

    Beach all the way

Hardwood in the common areas, carpet in the bedrooms. At least mine.

    Ice cream.

Dog- but only if it is one that looks exactly like your Gracie!

    Europe is drawing me in...

    Blow dry. everysingledayofmylife. Ugh.

  5. Skippy - there is no Jif in Canada...(ahhh, poor canucks)

I go back and forth on this one - but probably like chunky best.

I go back and forth on this one too - my family hates miracle whip - but I enjoy it with tuna.

Walk - I hate helmet head.

Mountains 'cuz I live there - but life would be perfect if there was an ocean here.

Hardwood - my house is full of it...but secretly I miss carpet, I LOVE to vacuum....really.

    Ice cream

Dog - especially Pugs which are really half cat

Europe - I am definitely into continents...islands are a little isolated.

Air dry - I find when I blow dry my hair just gets frizzy - must be the climate here...also I am terribly lazy ( oh, and only wash my hair about once or twice a week).

Jif - always been my favorite.

Creamy - since I was a little girl.

Mayo - never even tried Miracle Whip!

    4) R & J - Bike
    5) R & J - Mountains
    6) R & J - Depends on the room.

  15. 14 comments! Woohoo!! I didn't make it yesterday - sorry but here goes today!

Jif or Skippy? Hmmm..whichever is on sale, I am not picky
Creamy or chunky? OH creamy. Hate anything chunky.
Mayo or Miracle Whip? Miracle Whip - the epicurean in me cringes every time!
Walk or bike? Ooo...pretty tie there....love both...depends on where and how much distance I want to cover.
Mountains or beach? Again - pretty tie...if I had to chose though, I would have to say beach/ocean. Nothing grounds you faster and reminds you of the awesome power of God faster than standing on the beach watching the ocean.
Hardwood or carpet? Hardwood! Wish I had more.
Ice cream or sorbet? OH ice cream all the way
Cat or dog? Dog all the way - preferably one with boxer blood.
Europe or Hawaii? Hmmm..europe with a bunch of girlfriends that will appreciate the architecture with me, Hawaii with my dh. :)
Blow dry or air dry? Blow dry, my hair is awful and needs all the product anf fluff it can get!

Gee- I hope these weren't supposed to be one word answers!

I love it when people talk back...

It came out of the faucet that way.

It's been months since I've had a "Getting to Know You Wednesday." Life's been a little crazy. So today, when life is a little bit calm and I've got the least chaotic week I've had for ages, I thought I'd jump back in. So today, if you leave me a comment telling me your most favorite-ist movie line ever, I'll enter you in a drawing for your very own copy of Josh Groban's new Christmas CD - Noel . It's a good one, folks. Classic holiday music from such a wonderful vocalist... you'll like it, I promise. I just want one movie line. Not your three favorite... not a paragraph. Just one line. The one you find yourself repeating. The one that makes you laugh every time. Your very favorite movie line of all time. And if you're the first person to name the movie my title is from, you'll get an extra entry in the drawing. Now, let's hear it.

30,000? For real?

So, if you scroll down to the bottom of this here blog, you'll see that I'm probably just a day or two from reaching 30,000 hits. That's just freaky. And in just under 2 years. (I didn't add the counter until after I'd been blogging for several months...) So in honor of almost reaching that milestone, this weeks 'getting to know you Wednesday' question is this: What would you do if you won $30,000? I like this question, because it's not an overwhelming number, and therefore not brain-freeze inducing. It's big enough to be able to accomplish some nice little projects around the house, but not so large that you have to worry about your third cousins from the Ozarks showing up on your doorstep looking for cash so they can put veneers on their teeth. Answer my question this week and you'll be entered in a drawing for 30 special little trinkets in a lovely little goody box. (And when I say trinkets, I mean trinkets. We're talking 30 little lovelie

Are you ready for this?

How did it get to be Wednesday? Seriously. There aren't enough hours in the day - even when you're up at 2:00 am. And no - I didn't get up at 2:00 this morning. I slept all the way until 5:00! Anywho - I decided I needed something new to blog. Something to shake you all out of your 'thoughts from the deep recesses' stupor. Something to get your blood pumping and your fingers tingling. Something to inspire long and meaningful comments. From you. My beloved readers. It's a new weekly Thoughts From the Deep Recesses feature. It's "Getting to Know you Wednesday" Now this could either be lots of fun, or it could just totally flop, and I could go to bed crying because my blog readers are a bunch of takers who only come here to read and never interact. Like a piece of fresh fruit, you squeeze the juice out of my hard-written and well thought out posts and then you toss them aside, wandering on to the next blog with a simple click of your mouse.
