And the winner is...

Rod!

For those of you who haven't picked up on this, Rod is the sweetest, most big-brotherly, generous chap.

He sends me presents. Rod works at a used-book store for the Multnomah County library - and sends me and my family the greatest books from time to time. Isn't that just sweet?

It only seems fitting that I choose him and return the good vibes.

And plus, I love that I can totally envision him sitting there at his computer on Wednesday mornings, just waiting for the 'getting to know you' post.

I was really tempted to choose my Dad (the golden graham-liking anonymous poster) and sweet Missy caught my eye this week, as well as Debbie and Andi. But I can only choose one. So this week, it's Rod.

I know some of you are wondering, 'So if I send you presents in the mail does it increase my odds of being chosen on 'Getting to Know You Wednesday?'

Hmmm. You may be onto something.

Although, to be fair, there are plenty of times when I've chosen completely randomly.

And last time, Asia chose Paulette because he really liked her do-over.

So it doesn't have everything to do with sending me presents.
But it can't hurt.
Tee-hee!

Email me your address, Roddy, and I'll get your CD right out to you!

  2. So, I don't even get considered? Don't you know you could save postage AND a trip to the post office with me? I'd even come pick it up. :-) Was it because I compared you to Ree?

    Love ya! :-)

  3. You are too funny! I thought I was the only Tee-hee-er left in the world!

Love me some used books too - great job Rod! Thought of opening a store in our small hometown. Just not sure where to start. :)

    Happy day!

Tomorrow dd turns 13, trying not to go into a deep depression!

I love it when people talk back...

It came out of the faucet that way.

It's been months since I've had a "Getting to Know You Wednesday." Life's been a little crazy. So today, when life is a little bit calm and I've got the least chaotic week I've had for ages, I thought I'd jump back in. So today, if you leave me a comment telling me your most favorite-ist movie line ever, I'll enter you in a drawing for your very own copy of Josh Groban's new Christmas CD - Noel . It's a good one, folks. Classic holiday music from such a wonderful vocalist... you'll like it, I promise. I just want one movie line. Not your three favorite... not a paragraph. Just one line. The one you find yourself repeating. The one that makes you laugh every time. Your very favorite movie line of all time. And if you're the first person to name the movie my title is from, you'll get an extra entry in the drawing. Now, let's hear it.

30,000? For real?

So, if you scroll down to the bottom of this here blog, you'll see that I'm probably just a day or two from reaching 30,000 hits. That's just freaky. And in just under 2 years. (I didn't add the counter until after I'd been blogging for several months...) So in honor of almost reaching that milestone, this weeks 'getting to know you Wednesday' question is this: What would you do if you won $30,000? I like this question, because it's not an overwhelming number, and therefore not brain-freeze inducing. It's big enough to be able to accomplish some nice little projects around the house, but not so large that you have to worry about your third cousins from the Ozarks showing up on your doorstep looking for cash so they can put veneers on their teeth. Answer my question this week and you'll be entered in a drawing for 30 special little trinkets in a lovely little goody box. (And when I say trinkets, I mean trinkets. We're talking 30 little lovelie

Phlumpyschlumpy.

Good morning, peeps. It's Friday. There's frost outside this morning. *FROST!* This week has been ridiculously chilly. I'm having mixed feelings about blogging lately. Mostly because I feel like all I've been doing is whine about being tired. Or overwhelmed. And because comments are lacking. And because I can't seem to think about anything to write about except Tejan. And because some of the thoughts I'm having are too private for the blog - or too repetitive. Or too unformed to turn into actual words you all could understand. So I'm struggling a bit. And yet, I'm committed to documenting the process I'm in. So I'll keep writing when the words come. And when they don't, like this morning, when I looked at that intimidating blinking cursor and my mind went blank and I started to break out in a cold sweat and began by talking about the weather... well, then, I'll just gracefully (or not so gracefully) back out of the room... tail between m
