Tuesday. Ten.

  1. Several people have asked me about our trip to the ER last week and I've been horrible about getting back with the story... I ended up taking Ethan down one evening last week because he was very confused, with slurred speech and difficulty forming words... it was terrifing as a mom. And of course Asia was out of town. They did a CT scan and bloodwork, which all came back normal. The best the doctor could come up with was that he had a concussion from a fall a couple of days before... Apparently, you can have a delay in the symptoms...
  2. I'm putting my application for my trip to Sierra Leone in the mail this morning, along with my deposit to open my account for the trip. Can you believe it?
  3. My husband reads. A lot. But he only reads one genre. Fantasy. If you recommend a book to him (especially if it's non-fiction) he will go to the library and bring it home, get me interested in it, and then I will read it. Then I will tell him about it. And then he will go around talking about it. As if he read it. He's a cheater that way.
  4. Speaking of my husband, he's become a very good driver the last week. Must have something to do with the fact that he got a ticket recently and was able to get it deferred when he went to court... which means if he doesn't get another ticket in a year, this one will never show on his record. But which also means, if he does get another ticket, he will have to pay the full penalty on both AND both will show up on his record. It's a dream come true, people.
  5. Weight Watchers report: 15.8 pounds gone. 3.4 pounds from my goal weight.
  6. The kids are at VBS this week. This is Kyler's last year - he's been to this VBS every year since he was 4 years old... it's a good one. And always good timing for me - by this point in the summer a couple of quiet hours in the morning are SO welcome.
  7. Savannah goes to the orthodontist Monday morning for the first step in getting her braces... I think they're making a casting of her teeth or something. Braces actually go on in September.
  8. I'm going to post a bunch of stuff on Craigslist today... we had almost instant success selling Ethan's bike a couple of weeks ago - so now the bug has bit... I'm eager to see what else I can get rid of.
  9. We had three evenings in a row last weekend of dinner at friends' houses... we are spoiled. And well fed.
  10. Scrapbookers: are you following all the new stuff being released at CHA summer? Here's a great link to see everything all in one place... check it out! My favorites so far have to be KI Memories, Basic Grey and Maya Road. Amazing stuff.

Happy Tuesday friends!

I see that one thing is selling stuff you don't need...perhaps to do that TMMO thing.

    It is quite the bug.

I love it when people talk back...

It came out of the faucet that way.

It's been months since I've had a "Getting to Know You Wednesday." Life's been a little crazy. So today, when life is a little bit calm and I've got the least chaotic week I've had for ages, I thought I'd jump back in. So today, if you leave me a comment telling me your most favorite-ist movie line ever, I'll enter you in a drawing for your very own copy of Josh Groban's new Christmas CD - Noel . It's a good one, folks. Classic holiday music from such a wonderful vocalist... you'll like it, I promise. I just want one movie line. Not your three favorite... not a paragraph. Just one line. The one you find yourself repeating. The one that makes you laugh every time. Your very favorite movie line of all time. And if you're the first person to name the movie my title is from, you'll get an extra entry in the drawing. Now, let's hear it.

30,000? For real?

So, if you scroll down to the bottom of this here blog, you'll see that I'm probably just a day or two from reaching 30,000 hits. That's just freaky. And in just under 2 years. (I didn't add the counter until after I'd been blogging for several months...) So in honor of almost reaching that milestone, this weeks 'getting to know you Wednesday' question is this: What would you do if you won $30,000? I like this question, because it's not an overwhelming number, and therefore not brain-freeze inducing. It's big enough to be able to accomplish some nice little projects around the house, but not so large that you have to worry about your third cousins from the Ozarks showing up on your doorstep looking for cash so they can put veneers on their teeth. Answer my question this week and you'll be entered in a drawing for 30 special little trinkets in a lovely little goody box. (And when I say trinkets, I mean trinkets. We're talking 30 little lovelie

Phlumpyschlumpy.

Good morning, peeps. It's Friday. There's frost outside this morning. *FROST!* This week has been ridiculously chilly. I'm having mixed feelings about blogging lately. Mostly because I feel like all I've been doing is whine about being tired. Or overwhelmed. And because comments are lacking. And because I can't seem to think about anything to write about except Tejan. And because some of the thoughts I'm having are too private for the blog - or too repetitive. Or too unformed to turn into actual words you all could understand. So I'm struggling a bit. And yet, I'm committed to documenting the process I'm in. So I'll keep writing when the words come. And when they don't, like this morning, when I looked at that intimidating blinking cursor and my mind went blank and I started to break out in a cold sweat and began by talking about the weather... well, then, I'll just gracefully (or not so gracefully) back out of the room... tail between m
