Silly.

I've got to get to cleaning... we're hosting bible study tonight and there are several things I need to do before the crowds arrive. Mainly the floors. We all know how much I hate mopping and vacuuming. I seriously need a housekeeper. Just once a week to do the floors... wouldn't that be lovely?

I can't mop just yet though, because I spilled some dog food on the floor as I was emptying the last shipment into our dog food bin and I'm waiting for Gracie to finish eating it. I know - I could sweep it up. But this gives me time to blog while she eats. Silly me. This is some of the best procrastinating I've done all week.

I'm proud of myself today. I met with a financial planner about opening up an individual Roth IRA. Asia and I have other accounts, but I want to do something myself... something with my own money. I want to get to retirement age and be able to say "this is something I did all by myself." Silly, maybe. But important to me.

I have to tell you though, because I think I should tell someone. Mr. 'Edward Jones Financial Advisor' flirted with me. Yep. It's been years since anyone flirted with me. Silly. He said he thought I was 25 years old. (yea, right!) And he said he was glad I finally came in to set up my account and was done blowing him off. And I said I was glad too, since then he'd stop harassing me. Oh my goodness. Do I need to ask forgiveness? Never mind. The point is: it feels a little bit good to still be flirt-worthy, but I'm not going to leave my sweet husband and shack up with Mr. Financial Advisor. Don't worry about that. (Mostly because I like the sound of Cathy Goins WAY more than the sound of Cathy Financial Advisor.)

I simply cannot believe how many of you will comment for a prize. Silly people. Seriously though. I'll pick someone (randomly) tomorrow and you'll get a little goody from Spo-kane, Washington. Won't that be fun? And no, Brooke does not get multiple entries just for commenting more than once. (Sorry, sweetie. You know I love you. But that's cheating.)

Okay. The dog food is gone and I'm off to mop.
Wish me luck.

Somebody got a new toy...

Phlumpyschlumpy.

Good morning, peeps. It's Friday. There's frost outside this morning. *FROST!* This week has been ridiculously chilly. I'm having mixed feelings about blogging lately. Mostly because I feel like all I've been doing is whine about being tired. Or overwhelmed. And because comments are lacking. And because I can't seem to think about anything to write about except Tejan. And because some of the thoughts I'm having are too private for the blog - or too repetitive. Or too unformed to turn into actual words you all could understand. So I'm struggling a bit. And yet, I'm committed to documenting the process I'm in. So I'll keep writing when the words come. And when they don't, like this morning, when I looked at that intimidating blinking cursor and my mind went blank and I started to break out in a cold sweat and began by talking about the weather... well, then, I'll just gracefully (or not so gracefully) back out of the room... tail between m...

Missoula Children's Theater

Last week Savannah and Ethan were both cast in their school's Missoula Children's Theater production of Red Riding Hood. Savannah was cast as Mother Hood and the Grandmother, and Ethan was Robin Hood - the Hood family's cousin from England. After five days of intense rehearsing, (four and a half hours every day after school) they were ready for two shows on Saturday afternoon. It was so fun for them. And fun for me, as I was one of two parent volunteers with the privilege of being at every rehearsal. I come from my own childhood experience of many opportunities with theater and musicals, so watching them experience the thrill of performing was awesome. It was an amazing week. I'm so glad they had the chance to do it. I loved that instead of having to commit to weeks and weeks of rehearsals, they just had to do this one really intense week. A full scale musical production without a month of rehearsing and I didn't have to sew any costumes! That's my kind of pla...
