- I was wide awake at 2:30 in the morning and composed 7 of my Tuesday 10... unfortunately, I can't remember any of it now.
- I am officially completely done with all my class samples through the end of the year. It's a good feeling. Except that now it's time to start thinking about my January - April classes. It never ends... but I'm not complaining. I love my job.
- We haven't quite adjusted to the time change around here. The dog wanted to go to bed at 9:00 last night and Kyler was up at 6:15.
- We're off this weekend to our annual weekend in Leavenworth... it's Savannah's birthday weekend and we've spent the last four years celebrating it in a beautiful vacation home owned by some dear friends. It's one of the most relaxing places on earth. We're really hoping for some snow... it usually snows while we're there and we're dying to show Tejan the cold, white, fluffy stuff!
- I don't think I mentioned that Savannah got baptized a couple of weeks ago... she chose all on her own to do it... I was so proud as she stood in front of the whole church and said "I've pretty much always known God, for at least as long as I can remember, but I want everyone here to know that I want to follow Jesus for all my life." Good stuff. Good girl.
- There's a house on my street that went up for sale yesterday for $330,000. On my street. In Spokane. I'll be very curious to see what they get for it. The most any other house has gone for on our street is around $220K. I just can hardly believe it's worth that much... but maybe they have gold toilets or something I don't know about. I'm meeting my girlfriend Ann there this morning to look at it... I'm totally being the looky-loo neighbor. But Ann is house-hunting... so I think that makes me legit...
- We're going tonight to pick up Tejan. He's been gone since last Thursday, visiting friends in the Seattle area and seeing Quami, Eddie and Masa one last time before they headed back to Sierra Leone. Can't wait to see him.
- Ethan has become a serious kickball fanatic. Every day after school I hear the tales of who drop-kicked the ball, or who got him out, or whether anyone kicked their shoe off... it's some serious playground drama, for sure.
- Blogging while the kids are getting ready for school is just foolishness. Why do I even try?
- Happy Tuesday, dear ones.
Good morning, peeps. It's Friday. There's frost outside this morning. *FROST!* This week has been ridiculously chilly. I'm having mixed feelings about blogging lately. Mostly because I feel like all I've been doing is whine about being tired. Or overwhelmed. And because comments are lacking. And because I can't seem to think about anything to write about except Tejan. And because some of the thoughts I'm having are too private for the blog - or too repetitive. Or too unformed to turn into actual words you all could understand. So I'm struggling a bit. And yet, I'm committed to documenting the process I'm in. So I'll keep writing when the words come. And when they don't, like this morning, when I looked at that intimidating blinking cursor and my mind went blank and I started to break out in a cold sweat and began by talking about the weather... well, then, I'll just gracefully (or not so gracefully) back out of the room... tail between m...
Wow, kickball! It's outlawed at our elementary school. Go Ethan!
